East London was one of the first parts of the capital to fully embrace padel. What began with a few experimental courts has evolved into a dense network of venues — from converted warehouses in Stratford and Ilford to riverside terraces in Canary Wharf and pop-ups beside the Olympic Park. The mix captures the area’s character: industrial, creative, and always ahead of the curve.

In Stratford, Stratford Padel Club anchors the scene. Housed in a large converted warehouse near the Olympic Park, it offers nine indoor courts alongside a bar, bistro, and beer garden. The site includes a small gym and pro shop, and its regular coaching sessions, leagues, and socials have helped it become one of the UK’s most established indoor padel hubs. The club is within walking distance of Stratford High Street DLR, and parking is available nearby.

Downriver in Canary Wharf, Padium brings a modern, technology-led take on the sport. Seven indoor and two outdoor courts wrap around a mezzanine lounge and Ace Bar, with glass walls overlooking the Docklands. Its built-in “gamecam” system records matches for instant replays, and regular introductory sessions help new players find their rhythm. The club is connected to both the Jubilee Line and DLR and has limited on-site parking.

In Ilford, Rocket Padel operates one of London’s largest indoor facilities. Twelve panoramic courts sit beneath a high-ceilinged hall with a warm-up zone, viewing gallery, café, and pro shop. Coaching and tournaments run year-round, and its modern design makes it a destination for players from across the city. A sister site in Beckton, opened in 2025, adds five indoor courts within a complex that also includes a spa, gym, and restaurant — combining sport and leisure under one roof. Both locations provide parking and flexible booking options through Padel Mates.

Further east, Powerleague Romford integrates four covered courts into its football complex. Players can book through Playtomic, and the on-site clubhouse bar and café make it an easy after-work stop. The setup focuses on accessibility — indoor play, flexible bookings, and familiar Powerleague energy.

Outdoor play has a smaller but distinctive presence.

Each summer, Playtime Padel brings a single panoramic court to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The pop-up sits beside the stadium with a small bar and seating area overlooking the park. Free equipment hire, relaxed sessions, and an easy walk from Stratford or Hackney Wick stations make it a popular introduction to the sport.

In Shoreditch, Powerleague Shoreditch adds three floodlit outdoor courts to its football site behind Shoreditch High Street station. The courts run regular lessons and social events and are surrounded by cafés and Boxpark, giving the venue a lively city-centre atmosphere.

Even Padium’s riverside terrace includes two outdoor courts for those who prefer open air — completing a varied mix of East London settings, from temporary park-side pop-ups to permanent urban rooftops.

Across these venues, East London offers more than just courts. Most combine coaching, events, and social spaces designed to keep players around after matches. At Stratford Padel Club, the bar and beer garden fill quickly after tournaments; at Padium, players linger in the mezzanine lounge; and at Rocket Padel’s Ilford and Beckton sites, bistros and viewing areas make the transition from match to meal seamless. Even the Olympic Park pop-up and Shoreditch courts encourage people to stay, proving that here, padel is as much about connection as competition.

East London’s padel network reflects the area itself — fast-moving, open, and full of character. Whether you’re new to the sport, chasing league play, or looking for a court between meetings, there’s now a place to play across every corner of the East.
