East Midlands

  • Sawley, Derbyshire: Trent Lock Golf & Country Club has submitted plans to build four padel courts (with two retractable roofs) at its course. It’s an exciting proposal that would bring a brand-new padel venue to the area – fingers crossed the local council approves it soon!

  • Northants Championships: Northamptonshire held its first-ever County Padel Championships in mid-August, making history with its inaugural winners. Thomas Barnes & Piers Bodily claimed the men’s doubles title, while Caroline Barnes & Sarah Wilson took the women’s crown. This marks a huge milestone for padel in the county and sets the stage for more local competition.

  • Derby Charity Tournament: Derby-based accountancy firm Ashgates turned padel into a force for good – their charity padel competition at We Are Padel Derby drew 40+ finance professionals and raised almost £1,500 for the Prader–Willi Syndrome Association UK. It was a fun day on court for a great cause, and another sign of how padel is engaging the community.

West Midlands

  • Draycott, Staffordshire: Game4Padel’s new covered courts at Draycott Sports Centre (Stoke-on-Trent) are up and running – the first padel courts in Staffordshire. They’ve been a smash hit, reportedly booked to capacity about 90% of the time since opening. Local players are loving the convenience of indoor padel, especially as autumn approaches.

  • Coventry: The city of Coventry welcomed its first padel centre this summer. Padel Studios opened a three-court indoor facility in June 2025, bringing the UK’s fastest-growing sport to a brand new area. With state-of-the-art panoramic courts and a café on site, it’s quickly attracting students and locals eager to give padel a try.

North London

  • Willesden & Hampstead: Padel is spreading into new corners of North London. A sports centre in Willesden is set to add three covered padel courts, expanding play opportunities in NW London. Not far away, facilities in Hampstead are also planning to install padel courts in 2025. These upcoming projects mean even more places for North Londoners to pick up a racket and join the fun.

East London

  • Redbridge: Construction is under way on three brand-new covered padel courts at Redbridge Sports Centre in East London. Once finished, this will give East London players another top-notch facility with year-round play under a high-quality canopy. Keep an eye out for opening announcements – it’s poised to become a popular padel spot for the area.

  • Stratford – Gen25 Open: A unique event is coming to Stratford Padel Club on 24 September – the Gen25 Padel Open, hosted by tech firm Gen25 in partnership with GoMeddo. It’s not just a tournament but also a business networking evening, mixing competitive padel with mingling for a good cause. Participation is free (spaces are limited) and for each player, the organizers will donate to a sports charity supporting youth in London. Whether you play or watch, it’s a great chance to see padel bring people together in a new way.

  • Ultimate Padel Showdown: Another date for the diary – Sat 4 Oct will see the Ultimate Padel Showdown hit Rocket Padel Beckton. This high-octane event features four teams battling through rapid-fire matches (8-minute quarters) in one thrilling evening. Expect DJs, food stalls and an after-party alongside the padel. If you’re up for fast-paced action and a party atmosphere, Beckton is the place to be on Oct 4.

South London

  • Croydon: Big news for South London – Rocket Padel is planning to open a massive 9-court club in Croydon by late 2025. This would be one of the largest padel venues in the UK and a huge boost for the sport south of the river. With all courts expected to be indoors, it should offer all-weather play and could quickly become a hub for players from Surrey up into South London.

  • Wandsworth: The Padel Social Club is gearing up to launch a new flagship site in Wandsworth. The venue will feature six covered padel courts and vibrant social spaces – a mix of sport and scene that Padel Social Club is known for. Construction is nearing completion, and the opening is anticipated soon. Get ready for a new padel hangout where games, coffees and community come together in SW London.

West London

  • Fulham – Floating Court: West London got a taste of padel with a twist this summer. The exclusive Hurlingham Club in Fulham built a floating padel court on the Thames as part of a special event. Players got to hit shots surrounded by water – a one-of-a-kind experience – showing the lengths (and heights!) the sport is going to capture imaginations.

  • West London Clubs: Padel continues to thrive across West London’s clubs. From the 12 courts at Rocks Lane Chiswick to pop-up venues like Padel Affair in Southall (UB2), the west side isn’t being left behind. There’s even talk of new courts coming to areas that currently have none. With public interest high, expect more West London padel announcements on the horizon.

That’s it for this month! Whether you’re trying out a new local court or joining one of the upcoming events, there’s plenty to get involved with across the Midlands and London. So grab your racket, hit the courts, and enjoy – we’ll catch you next time for more padel news and updates!
